Looking for some summer activities for your gifted learner? While at the recent GAGC (Georgia Association for Gifted Children) conference, I came upon some interesting alternatives to the usual sleep away or day camp. If your child joined DUKE Tip this past year (4th & 5th graders), then you have recieved e-mails about various camps offered this summer, all of which looked very interesting! If you did not, there are others out there! A few that I saw at the conference were: Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) and Camp Invention. SIG offers a residential or day camp at Emory with various course options such as DNA: Your Unique Code and Two and Three D media. Camp Invention is offered in various locations around Gainesville including Hall, Dekalb, Oconee, Gwinnett, and Forsyth counties. Wauka Mountain offers this camp the week of June 10.
If you come across a lego or lego robotics camp, please let me know! LEGO Robotics has been a huge success, here at Enota and I know some of our students would love to spend a week immersed in LEGO's!
